Cattle - Supplements

Treatment of acetonemia or ketosis in cattle and as a source of carbohydrates. 
For intravenous administration only. Intravenous administration must be done slowly and made under strict aseptic conditions. The solution should be warmed to body temperature prior to administration.
Cattle: 100 to 500 mL depending upon the size and condition of the animal.The treatment may be repeated in several hours or on successive days as needed.

DV0043       DEXTROSE 50% 500ML 12/CS

Durvet's highest level of vitamin B available. For use on animals that are stressed or have vitamin B deficiencies. Contains 1000 mcg of B12, 12.5 mg of B, 5 mg of B6 and 2 mg of B2.  For use on: Cattle, swine and sheep. 

Administer intramuscularly or subcutaneously. May be administered intravenously at the discretion of a veterinarian. The following are suggested dosages, depending on the condition of the animal and the desired response.
Adult Cattle: 1 to 2mL per 500 pounds of body weight
Calves, Sheep and Swine: 1 to 2mL.
May be repeated once or twice weekly.

Directions for use for 20gm
Add this product to the ration (protein mix, grain mix, or salt) in proportions that will provide EDDI at the rate of 10mg per head per day/ Mix thoroughly to obtain uniform distribution in ration.
Protein mix: Add 1/2 lb. of this product to each ton of protein mix. Feed at the rate of not more than 2 lbs. per head per day.
Grain mix: Add 1 oz. of this product ot each ton of grain mix. Feed at the rate of not more than 15 lbs. per head per day.
Salt: Add 1 lb. of this product to 130 lbs. of feeding salt. Then feed 1 oz. of salt mixture per head per day.
Directions for use for 40gm

Calcium Gluconate 23% Solution is to be used as an aid in the treatment of Milk Fever (Parturient Paresis) in cattle. Ideal source of calcium to aid in treating Milk Fever and other calcium deficiencies. - Veterinarians' product of choice for simple Milk Fever cases.

Cattle: 250 to 500mL Administer intravenously or intraperitoneally. Solution should be warmed to body temperature and administered slowly. It contains no preservative. Use entire contents when first opened.

DV0033       CALCIUM GLUCONATE 23% 500ML

Injectable Iron 100 mg is a sterile, injectable solution for use in the prevention or treatment of baby pig anemia due to iron deficiency.

Iron Dextran-100: Intramuscular injection. Prevention: 1 mL at 2-4 days of age. Treatment: 1 mL . May be repeated in approximately 10 days.

CAUTION: Exercise care in administering to avoid aspiration into the lungs and possible foreign body pneumonia. Prolonged use or frequent repeat use may interfere with normal absorption of nutrients from digestive tract.

For use as a supplemental nutritive source of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium and dextrose in cattle. Administer orally as a drench. The usual dose for adult cattle is 500mL.

A sterile emulsifiable solution of vitamins A & D. For the correction or treatment of deficiencies of these vitamins needed since many natural sources of Vitamin A are not useable by cattle. For Use On: Cattle, Horses, Goats, Sheep, Swine, and Poultry. Inject intramuscularly using a sterile 14 to 18 gauge needle 1 to 2 inches long. Injection should be made into a heavily musculed area, preferably high on the rump, using aseptic technique.
Calves: 1/2 to 1mL
Yearling: 1 to 2mL
Adult Cattle: 2 to 4mL
These suggested doses may be repeated after 60 days, if necessary.

Administer on back of tongue. Each click (dose) provides approximately 7 grams of product. Use 1 to 2 clicks, 7 to 14 grams, for lactating cows. Use 3 to 4 clicks, 21 to 28 grams, for freshining cows. Repeat dosage daily, as needed. May be used in conjuction with antibiotics.

SHAKE WELL BEFORE USING. For cattle, administer orally one 12oz. bottle pre-birthing and additional feeding post-birthing as needed. For sheep and goats, administer 1 to 2 oz. orally depending on the body weight, pre-birthing and additional feeding post-birthing or as directed by your veterinarian.
Hold the head of the animal in a slightly elevated position and place the bottle between the cheek and teeth. Administer the entire contents of the bottle slowly, allowing the animal time to swallow. Do not give to animals without a swallowing reflex.
