Captan Funcide 50% WP

Formulation: Captan. A wettable powder fungicide specially formulated to mix easily with water to control fungus diseases on fruits and ornamentals. Can also be used in dry form to prevent seed rot and damping off as listed on label. Excellent to control cedar apple rust on fruit trees.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IT IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW TO USE THIS PRODUCT IN A MANNER INCONSISTENT WITH ITS LABELING.

Not for use on plants being grown for sale or other commercial use, or for commercial seed production, or for research purposes. For use on plants intended for aesthetic purposes or climactic modifications and being grown in interior landscapes, ornamental gardens or parks, or on lawns and grounds.
USE PRECAUTIONS: Wear goggles or face shield when handling. Remove contaminated clothing and separately launder clothing before reuse. Wear chemical-resistant gloves when using indoors, or outdoors. When using, wear long pants and long-sleeved shirt and apply with the wind to your back. Wash non-disposable gloves thoroughly with soap and water before removing. Hi-Yield® Captan Fungicide 50% WP is a wettable powder specially formulated to mix easily with water to form a suspension for spray application. Simply add required amount to the water and stir till completely dispersed. If a wetterspreader is needed on Roses or other hard to wet plants, add 1⁄2 teaspoon of household detergent per gallon to spray mixture. There are 5 level tablespoons or 15 level teaspoons per ounce of Hi-Yield® Captan Fungicide 50% WP. Apply sufficient spray volume to provide thorough, even coverage. Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system.
ORNAMENTALS
USE PRECAUTIONS: Do not apply spray to ornamental plants listed below beyond the point of drip from the leaf surface. When applying as a drench apply only sufficient mixture to wet the surface of the soil except when the dose is specified in terms of volume of mixture per square foot of area.
AZALEA, CARNATION, CHRYSANTHEMUM: (Damping-off)—Dip cuttings in a suspension of 3 tablespoons per gal. of water before bedding. CARNATION (Rust, Alternaria Leaf Spot):
CHRYSANTHEMUMS: (Botrytis Flower Blight)— 5 teaspoonsful per gal. of water. Apply at first sign of disease. Repeat at 7 to 10 day intervals. Use the shorter interval under conditions favorable to infection.
GLADIOLUS, TUBEROUS BEGONIAS: (Rot, Damping-off)—Use 9 teaspoonsful per gal. of water for Tuberous Begonias and 9 to 36 teaspoonsful per gal. of water for Gladiolus Corms. Dip bulbs for 30 minutes. Stir, drain and plant.
ROSE: (Black Spot)—Use 5 teaspoonsful per gal. of water. Apply at first sign of disease. Repeat at 7 to 10 day intervals. Use the shorter interval under conditions favorable to infection.
LAWNS, TURF: (Brown Patch, Damping-off, Leaf Spot, Root Rot) Use 5 teaspoonsful per gal. of water and apply 1 gal. per 100 sq. ft. of turf. Begin application when new growth starts in the Spring. Repeat at 7 to 10 day intervals as needed. Do not exceed 2 applications per year.
SEED TREATMENT
Not for use on agriculture establishments in hopper-box, planter-box, slurrybox, or other seed-treatment applications at or immediately before planting.
BEANS, CABBAGE, CORN, MELONS, PEAS, SQUASH: (Seed-Rot, Dampingoff)— Use 1⁄2 teaspoonful per pound of dry seeds.
BEETS, SWISS CHARD, SPINACH, GRASS: (Seed rot, Damping-off)—Use 21⁄2 teaspoonsful for Beets and Swiss Chard, 13⁄4 teaspoonsful for Grass seed and 11⁄4 teaspoonfuls for Spinach. Mix thoroughly in paper bag or glass jar.
NOT FOR COMMERCIAL SEED TREATMENT.
FRUIT
APPLE: (Scab, Fruit Spot, Sooty Blotch, Fly-Speck, Frog-Eye, Fruit Rots)—Use 2 level tablespoons per gallon of water. Spray 1 to 2 pints for small/dwarf trees, 1 to 2 quarts per medium-size tree, and 1 to 3 gallons for large/mature trees. Apply at 10 to 14 day intervals from petal fall to harvest. For Frog-eye Leaf Spot also apply during the prebloom and bloom periods on a 10 to 14 day schedule.
GRAPE: (Downy Mildew, Black Rot)—Use 2 level tablespoons per gallon of water. Spray 1⁄2 gallon per 100 sq. ft. Apply just before bloom, just after bloom and 7 to 10 days after bloom. Make an additional application 2 to 3 weeks later for Downy Mildew. (Dead Arm) (current season infections) (Northeastern states)—Use 2 level tablespoons per gallon of water. Spray 1⁄2 gallon per 100 sq. ft. Apply when shoots are 1 to 2 inches long. Repeat applications when shoots are 4 to 6 inches long.
PEACH: (Brown Rot, Scab)—Use 2 level tablespoons per gallon of water in pink, full bloom, petal fall, shuck shed, cover and preharvest stages. Spray 1 to 2 pints for small/dwarf trees, 1 to 2 quarts per medium size tree, and 1 to 3 gallons for large/mature trees. Repeat applications at 7 to 14 day intervals as needed to maintain cover. Continue applications through harvest if conditions favor Brown Rot.
STRAWBERRY: (Botrytis Rot)—Use 2 level tablespoons per gallon of water. Spray 1⁄2 gallon per 100 sq. ft. Make first application as soon as new growth starts and repeat at 7 day intervals to harvest. Under severe infection conditions, apply immediately after each picking through harvest.
