Crabgrass Preventer plus Lawn Food contains Team* DIRECTIONS FOR USE GENERAL INFORMATION: This turf fertilizer product contains Team*, a preemergence herbicide for application to established turfgrasses for the control of the winter anual grasses: annual Bluegrass (Poa annua) and Summer annual grasses: Smooth and Hairy Crabgrass, Goosegrass(Silver Crabgrass or Crowfootgrass), Barnyardgrass (Watergrass) and Green and Yellow Foxtail. This product also provides partial control of Prostrate spurge (Euphorbia humistrata), Spotted Spurge (Euphorbia maculatta), Creeping Spurge (Euphorbia serpens), Creeping Woodsorrel (Oxalls comiculata) and Yellow Woodsorrel (Oxalls stricta). APPLICATION This product should be applied one to two weeks prior to the anticipated germination of the target anual weeds. Apply using a properly calibrated granular fertilizer spreader which will uniformly distribute the product over the target area. Avoid skips and excessive overlap as poor weed control or turfgrass injury may occur. Optimum weed control performance will be obtained if treated areas are irrigated soon after application. This product will not harm most nearby ornamentals. In areas with extended growing seasons or where desired, a second application at the recommended rate can be made 8 to 10 wekks following the initial application on cool season turfgrasses and 10 to 12 weeks following the initial application on warm season turfgrasses.
SPLIT APPLICATION FOR EXTENDED CONTROL AND LAWN CARE OPERATOR PROGRAMS As an alternative to single application programs, fertilome crabgrass preventer plus Lawn Food containing Team* may also be applied in split applications. This program is desirable when the initial application is made well in advance of weed germination and where weed control is desired for a longer period of time. Apply fertilome Crabgrass Preventer plus Lawn Food containing Team* at 3lbs plus 3lbs per 1,000 sq ft for Cool Season Turfgrass and in the norther half of the Warm Season Turfgrass area of US or 4lbs plus 4lbs per 1,000 sq ft in the southern half of the Warm Season Turfgrass Area of the US. The second appliction should be made 8 to 10 weeks following the 3lbs per 1,000 sq ft rate and 10 to 12 weeks following the 4lbs per 1,000 sq ft rate. SPREADER GUIDE These settings can be used only as a guide, they are not absolute. The speed at which the applicator walks, spreader condition and the texture of the turf will alter the rate of application. If product remains in spreader after application to recommended square foot coverage, spread remainder over same area going at right angles.
